Day 16 - Needles - Rancho Cucamonga

After Arizona/Nevada/Utah our expectations were high for California. Personally, I was getting a bit tired of driving in the desert: almost no vegetation, extreme heat, not a single spot for shade, no AC in our vehicle, a continuous feeling of melting down...The temperate clima of California was urgent need. This is what he got instead: the Mojave desert:
Most of South California is like this
and this
and this
and this
Luckily we found our route
and that was written everywhere

Please note the detail of the gas price
That explains why some stations end like this
Somewhere in our way we found the town of Calico
A town that looks just like the ones from a spaghetti western
old jail with a new prisoner
Train station of Barstow

A typical forest from California deserts

A mural in Bernardino
from the first restaurant of a not so famous national chain
A different motel also in Bernardino (check the motel here)
